“A magnificent symphony,”[i] has been used to describe the interplay of hormones in the woman’s body which allows for a “fertile window” in which conception of a new life as possible each month.
Listen as Sister Anna Marie McGuan, RSM, speaks with Sister Mary Gretchen Hoffman, RSM, MD. Dr Hoffman describes the advances in the use of knowledge of signs and symptoms to predict fertility to allow couples to use these rhythms to achieve or to avoid conception when necessary. Dr. Hoffman is a provider for Fertility Education and Medical Management (FEMM), which teaches women to use both physiologic signs and hormone levels to predict the fertile window. This is a frank discussion that may help answer all the things you ever wanted to ask about “natural family planning.”
