O Sacred Banquet

By Sister Mary Sarah Macht, RSM, MSN, FNP-BC

Listen to O Sacrum Convivium:

O sacrum convivium, in quo Christus sumitur;

recolitur memoria passionis ejus;

mens impletur gratia;

et futurae gloriae nobis pignus datur. (Alleluia)

Panem de caelo praestitisti eis

Omnem delectamentum in se habentem.

English Translation:

O sacred banquet, wherein Christ is received;

the memorial of his passion is renewed;

the soul is filled with grace;

and a pledge of future glory is given to us. (Alleluia)

You gave them bread from heaven

Containing in itself all sweetness. [i]
