Sisters of Mercy are known throughout the world for their presence in caring for the sick, particularly during times of war and epidemics. During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our Sisters had the opportunity to serve in different ways caring for patients and their families affected by COVID-19. The Eastern Oklahoma Catholic newspaper approached Warren Clinic, which is part of the Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for people to interview regarding their care of patients with COVID-19. Sister Mary Sarah Macht, FNP–BC, who worked extensively in an outpatient respiratory illness clinic with patients who had COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses from March to June 2020 was asked for an interview regarding this work.
