What’s New with COVID-19 Testing?
As a nurse practitioner, I have had many different COVID tests over the last year and a half…today’s was by far the easiest. In our previous blog about where to get a “fast” PCR COVID test, we talked about local options for rapid PCR testing through a partnership with eTrueNorth, local and state health departments, and Meijer pharmacies.
Simple:
Just click on the link below to get started online. If you do not have a smart phone or computer, you can call 1-800-635-8611 to make an appointment. You must have a voucher at the time of your appointment to have the test done.
Easy:
This is an anterior nose swab … less uncomfortable than the other methods of collection.
Convenient:
For those who live near the testing center, you just go through the drive-through at the pharmacy; and they give you the instructions.
Fast:
Results are said to be ready in about an hour. I received an email when my results were ready. My results were available in about 40 minutes.
Downside:
If your healthcare provider needs the results for some reason, you will have to be able to transmit or print them off as they do not automatically go to your doctor’s office.
