The Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan were found in 1973. In addition to taking the three traditional vows in religious life of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience, Sisters of Mercy profess a fourth vow of service to the poor, sick, and ignorant. In the current era, this vow of service is expressed many ways. The Sisters receive formation and professional education to be able to serve the Church as effectively as possible. While some Sisters are educated in healthcare professions, others are educated to be teachers and professors in different disciplines with a view toward providing comprehensive care of the human person.
This section of the blog displays different aspects of the apostolic life of the Sisters of Mercy. It is an opportunity for us to share how our Sisters are living the charism of Mercy through our mission of comprehensive healthcare around the world.
