Sr. Mariana Koonce, RSM, M.D., a physician and professed member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy, was the founding director of the St. Mary’s Legacy Mobile Medical Clinic, which provides traveling medical care to uninsured residents of the Appalachian region of East Tennessee. She presented this talk to undergraduate preprofessional students at Notre Dame, from where she graduated in 1990.
